Welcome to Deck Tech Sportfishing charters. Our goal is to show you an enjoyable experience aboard our boat that you won't soon forget. Capt. Bruce has fished the local Miami, Bahamas, and the Florida Keys waters for over 30 years from his beginning days in the late 70's at the original Pier 5 MiamiMarina at age 13 fishing alongside such great charterboats as the Sea Boots, Sherry D, Mar Bren, and the Sea Hawk just to name a few. We have continued on to fish the local charterboats as well as many private sportfishing machines.
Over 9 years have been devoted to the 54' Bertram "Glory Daze" with master captain Capt. Jimmy Lewis . We still to this day are active with the Pier 5 charterboat fleet providing captain and mate service to fine vessels as Reel Time, Billin Office, Masita's 1 and 2, Patients, and the KiteHunter. We are also currently operating the 60' Bertram "Lua" owned by Jose Ortega from Sazon condiments. When it comes to the fishing,some days the fish will jump in the boat and other days you couldn't buy a bite. Our sole job is to make sure that you enjoy your time on the ocean with all it's beauty and cherish the moment of the day and create the memories that will last a lifetime!

Feb 4 2010: Fishing on the edge right now is great with alot of kingfish chomping at the bit to get your pilchards in 75-100 ft. right out front at the Cuban Hole. A little deeper in the 120-150 ft. range is where the sailfish are chewing. Kitefishing or simply drifting live baits have been very productive. The next three months the sailfish are coming through solid. Some dolphin and blackfin tunas are mixed in as well. The bait is solid also in Government Cut so it's time to give us a call and book a trip. Give me a call directly and we'll set you up with the opportunity to have a great day. Our boat is a tournament rigged 2006 22' PangaMarine Marquesas with a 140hp Suzuki 4 stroke outboard.She is also loaded with a second station tower with dual controls.We limit our boat to only 2 to 3 people to ensure plenty of room to enjoy yourself. We specialize in light tackle sportfishing for offshore and reef species such as sailfish, dolphin, kingfish, wahoo, tuna,and cobia as well as many other local species. We employ live bait fishing, kitefishing, trolling, drifting, and bottom fishing. We can arrange custom swordfishing trips day or night. We can also arrange many types of trips such as multi-day, multi-boat and basically any excursion that suits your needs.
If our boat isn't big enough, we can arrange any size sportfishing machine for up to 6 people from our detailed database of some of the finest sportfishing boats around. We will provide all the essentials for your trip. All you need is your food and drink! We would also encourage a hat,camera, and polarized sunglasses to see your fish in the water as well as sunblock to protect you from the Florida sun. Then you just let us take care of all the rest!
All of our custom fishing equipment starts out with Alutecnos, Daiwa, and Penn spinning and conventional reels on Shakesphere custom graphite rods from 8 to 80lb. class all loaded with genuine Ande pink monofilament. We generally catch our own live bait on the way out in the morning and we exclusively use R & R sabiki rigs and dehookers from my friend Capt. Ray Rosher. If the live bait is scarce we will simply place an order for pilchards or goggle eyes with KiteHunter live bait. All of our kitefishing equipment is supplied by KiteHunter fishing products with Capt. Jimmy Lewis and his wife Holly Lewis. |

Captain Services
We also provide custom captain and or mate service on your boat. We are licensed by the United States Coast Guard as a 100 ton Master Captain.We are available for private excursions as well as tournament fishing. Our most recent win was the 2009 Capt.
